- 28-day roster with 8 rostered days off and one guaranteed weekend off per roster; 6 weeks' annual leave (PilotJobsNetwork wiki, entry last updated Nov 2014, so it may be out of date).
- Allowances
- About AUD 7 per duty hour, tax-free on overnight duties (PilotJobsNetwork wiki, 2014 entry; PPL Prep guide, 2025/26).
- Benefits
- Statutory superannuation applies as an Australian employer. Other benefits are set out in the EA, which could not be checked.
- Bond
- Cadets at the Australian Airline Pilot Academy (Rex's academy) pay a performance bond to Rex before the course starts. Course fees are funded through a Rex Cadet Loan, which is repaid from the start of full-time Rex employment. Two Australian residents must jointly guarantee the loan. There is a seven-year commitment period: a cadet who resigns within it must repay the outstanding loan plus interest at once. Fee and bond amounts are given only to successful candidates (Rex cadet FAQ). No bond is mentioned in direct-entry pilot adverts.
