SunExpress pilot interview questions and selection process
How SunExpress selects pilots: 6 selection stages and 2 interview questions from candidates' accounts. Use them to practise; they are examples, not official answers.
Selection stages
- HR document check
- Mollymawk online/test-centre aptitude tests (~3 h; result ~10 min after)
- Simulator assessment (B737NG, Antalya)
- Selection committee interview (~1.5 h, in English: HR specialist, flight-ops captain, aviation psychologist; result in minutes)
- Original document verification
- Work permit for foreign candidates (~30 days)
Tests
- Mollymawk: spatial orientation, time sharing, working memory, maths & physics (aeronautics and English modules also offered)
- TOEIC or equivalent English score
Simulator check
B737NG full-motion with a SunExpress pilot as PM; profile: straight-out departure to 2,000 ft and VOR radial intercept, steep turns, climbs/descents with speed changes, ILS with flight director off; crosswind likely; non-rated candidates only need to call for gear/flaps/checklists; CRM weighted over checklist detail
By rank
- First officer: Same process for captains and FOs per Flight Deck Friend (2018).
Interview questions
Situational
- What would you do if a drunk first-class passenger was harassing the person sitting next to them?
Competency and CRM
- Tell us about a time someone overstepped your authority or command.
For practice only: general examples, not official answers. Pilot Jobs International accepts no responsibility for how they are used; prepare your own answers in your own words.
