Recruits in campaigns posted as PDF adverts on airmauritius.com. 2025 rounds: Mauritian Pilot Development Program (MPDP/APR 25, Mauritian nationals only, CPL/IR + frozen ATPL, closed 15 May 2025) and ATR 72 type-rated direct-entry FOs (DEFO/APR25, 1,000 multi-engine hours, closed 31 May 2025). Assessment was outsourced to Interpersonal GmbH; in July 2025 only 12 of 73 candidates were selected against a target of 28, with new FOs starting on the ATR. Direct-entry A330/A350/A340 captain adverts are open to expatriates. No pilot advert was seen open on 2026-11-01. The airline is reviewing its fleet strategy and has a new CEO.

Air Mauritius does not publish a pilot pay scale and no MALPA agreement or tribunal award with figures was found. The ranges above are indicative monthly base figures from an Aviation A2Z article dated 12 Oct 2026 (FO MUR 120,000-250,000; Captain MUR 350,000-600,000; annual MUR 1.44m-3m and 4.2m-7.2m); the article does not say where the ranges come from, so treat them as rough. Older crowd-sourced data on PilotJobsNetwork (entries 2005-2016) give year-1 FO pay of about MUR 80,000 (ATR), 115,000 (A319) and 240,000 (A340), and 2016 FO basic pay of EUR 1,639 (ATR72) to EUR 2,842 (A340) rising to roughly EUR 2,500-6,000 with allowances, plus a 10% annual bonus; expatriate captains in 2011 were quoted a EUR-denominated basic plus an 11% expat allowance and a housing allowance. These historical figures predate the 2020 voluntary administration, during which pilots accepted reduced salaries and 18 pilots were put on 5-year leave without pay (Le Matinal). Expat pay is set individually and is described in adverts only as an attractive package.

Pay is built from basic salary plus flight-duty pay and per diems. Aviation A2Z (Oct 2026), citing the airline's recruitment information, lists a one-month end-of-year bonus and a gratuity equal to 25% of salary. Historical PilotJobsNetwork entries mention per diems around EUR 800-1,000 a month (2011) and a housing allowance for expatriates.
